I have had yet another rotten night; trying to counteract the sleepfail with daylight but there's only so much daylight here. Let's hope it helps. I cannot deal with being awake till 6am again I really can't. My cope is mostly run out.

At this rate it .... might be done before we leave. And it has to be done before we leave. Wheee flail panic!

But I can't do it any faster, so oh well!

This is in a lot of ways the scariest part of doing the Jahanara pic, because I can't erase, undo, or paint over this. I'm being as careful as I can, but this is painted straight onto textured paper with gold paint; there's no fixing anything. It's all first pass, and every mistake is kept forever, unless I screw up so badly I have to restart ( Read more... )

Sooo there's a reason besides health for why I haven't been posting updates on the Jahanara pic. Namely that I've been working on writing out the Arabic text to the poem that goes with the picture, which tithenai's awesome father translated for me!
